About Me

Jennifer Knapp of
Swaddled in Love Doula Services
My name is Jennifer Knapp and I'm a Birth Arts trained Birth Doula..
I was 21 when I had my first son and it transformed me. Before he was born I had no clue about birthing, breastfeeding and parenting. I just went with the flow and successfully gave birth naturally and have raised a wonderful boy.
When I became pregnant with my daughter I decided that I needed and wanted more education about breastfeeding and natural birthing. Again I was successful at having a natural birth and this time successful at breastfeeding. Unfortunately though I kept hearing of women who didn't have the same luck as I did. This is when my passion for birthing and breastfeeding was really sparked. I felt like there needs to be a change and I wanted to help be that change.
Shortly after becoming pregnant with my 3rd child I attended a good friends home birth. After her birth and being with the midwives I knew I had to be part of the birthing community. I felt so drawn to it unlike any thing else I had tried to do. My own home birth sealed the deal for me. It was empowering and beautiful.
I started by attending a casual midwives assistant class taught by one of the midwifes I had birthed with. A group of women met monthly for about a year to soak in all she had to teach us. Soon after that ended a local doula offered a Birth Arts birth doula class in the area and I jumped at the chance to finally become a doula. I know that this is what I am supposed to be doing.
I love using my professional training and experience as a mother of 3 to help a new mother birth the way she wants to and is supposed to. This is what I am meant to do.
